SUMMER IN MARION COUNTY BRINGS FRESH GARDEN VEGETABLES TO DOWNTOWN LEBANON AT THE NEW FARMER'S MARKET PAVILION LOCATED AT 230 MARION LUTHER KING BLVD. THEIR HOURS OF OPERATION ARE: MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY FROM 8AM-5PM. TUESDAY AND THURSDAY 8AM-12NOON.

Hourigan Government Center will be closed for the July 4th Holiday on
Friday (July 3) and Saturday (July 4) and will re-open on Monday (July 6).
The Sheriff will respond to calls, but calls need to be routed through the
Central Dispatch at the Lebanon Police Department.
The PVA (Property Valuation Administrator, Marion County Clerk, and the
Marion County Judge's Office will be closed - Friday and Saturday - July
3rd and 4th.
Sanitation routes that normally run on Friday - will be picked-up on
Monday - July 6th along with the normal Monday Garbage Routes.
The Marion Circuit Clerk's Office will be closed on Friday (July 3) and Saturday (July 4) for the July 4th Holiday. The Office will reopen on Monday (July 6) at 8;30am.
Lebanon City Hall to Be Closed July 3rd, for the July 4th Holiday
Due to the Avis Vehicle Information Computer System being down, the Marion County Clerk's Office will be closed on Friday (July 3) and Saturday (July 4) in observance of the 4th of July holiday. The office will re-open on Monday (July 6) at 8:30am.
Washington Circuit Clerks office will be closed Friday and Saturday for July 4th.

Springfield is getting ready for the City's 10th Annual
Independence Day Celebration. Several activities are planned for
this Friday July 3rd, starting with a sidewalk chalking contest at
6pm.
Nell Haydon, Main Street Renaissance Director, says cash prizes will
be awarded to the first and second place winners in each of the
contests, and the participants are invited to take part in the
parade which begins at 7. The parade, Haydon says, will pay tribute
to the area's veterans.
Haydon said there are over 40 entries in this year's parade. Each of
the veterans will ride in Corvette Convertibles. The Grand
Marshall's are Colonel Arthur Kelly, who fought in three wars, and
his son, State Senator Dan Kelly. A free concert will be held from
7:30 to 9:30.
Haydon says any veteran who would like to participate in the parade
can contact her at 859-336-5412, extension number 2. She also says
parade organizers are looking for more convertibles.
The Marion County Sportsman's Club will have a 3-D Archery shoot for the whole family on Sunday (July 5). All events start at noon. Hotdogs, hamburgers, ice cold pops. For more information call Pres. Frank Colvin at 402-1984, or Darrin Calvert at 699-6539.
The exhibits on display in Floral Hall for the 2009 Marion County Fair will be released on MONDAY, JULY 6 from 10:00 a.m. –; 12:30 p.m. You may pick up your entries at that time. Any questions, contact the Marion County Extension Office, 270-692-2421.

The Kentucky State Police Trooper Island raffle for 2009 features a 372-horsepower Dodge Challenger R/T. The vehicle has a brilliant black metallic exterior and a dark slate gray cloth interior. It’s powered by a 5.7-liter V8 (Yes It’s got a HEMI!) MDS VCT engine with a lifetime limited warranty. Other features include dual rear exhaust, a five speed automatic transmission, 20” chrome wheels, a rear spoiler, power sunroof, six disc CD changer and six Boston Acoustics speakers. Tickets are $10 each and are available from any of KSP's 16 posts throughout the state or by sending a check for $10 per ticket and a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Kentucky State Police, Media Relations Branch, 919 Versailles Road, Frankfort, KY 40601. The winning ticket will be drawn on August 30 at the Kentucky State Fair. (Raffle winner is responsible for all tax and license fees.) Trooper Island is a free summer camp for disadvantaged boys and girls age 10-12 operated by the Kentucky State Police on Dale Hollow Lake in Clinton Co. It is financed entirely by donations, no public funds are used. Each year, the camp hosts approximately 700 children, providing good food, fresh air, recreation, guidance and structured, esteem-building activities designed to build good citizenship and positive relationships with law enforcement officers.
